So, leaving out the per-key RGB illumination (7 effects with 5 brightness levels) for the keys thanks to the Kailh Silver Speed switches everything else pretty much remains identical to the original Alloy FPS including the steel frame, N-Key / 6-Key rollover, 100% anti-ghosting, 1000MHz polling rate, detachable braided cable and even a USB port which can be used to charge mobile/portable devices. The plastic casing is made out of ABS plastic, as is the norm these days, and has cutouts to accommodate the various bits and bobs on the keyboard PCB. Finally, the keyboard uses a removable Mini USB cable rather than the usual Micro-B or USB-C, as the older standard is slightly cheaper and users are less likely to plug in their own (potentially subpar) cables.

On the other hand, the HyperX uses normal mechanical linear switches, and its cable is detachable, though it can only be used wired.With all of our knowledge at hand, the experience we had with it, and what we ran into, in the end, it is your decision to make. In English, it only takes a light touch to trigger a key press, making it great for gaming, but less so for typing. The HyperX Alloy FPS RGB and the HyperX Alloy Elite 2 perform very similarly and are both remarkable choices for gaming. The cloud sync feature is available by using a Windows Live account, so you don't have to create an extra HyperX account for this.

We did forget to turn on the locks, but we can say that all three LEDs are bright and white, so that they can be easily distinguished at a glance. The layout is also completely standard, with ISO (UK, Europe) and ANSI (US, China) variants available. To the right of this is the legal information and a product sticker with the model and serial number on it. The Alloy FPS is a wide keyboard, thanks to its inclusion of all 100+ keys, but the chassis at least keeps its dimensions to a reasonable 442 x 130 x 36mm.The PCB itself is connected to the steel plate such that the switches are soldered through, and this makes it harder to swap out switches for modding.
