About this deal

The story was depressing yet captivating and I would’ve loved it if there was a full novel dedicated to Gloria’s romance. I love a good guidebook as much as anyone who’s as obsessed with world building as I am, and this one was really fun! Miss Peregrine’s Museum of Wonders can easily be read as a standalone or an introduction to the peculiar world …. That being said, there is no real story here it is just more lore and peculiar world building so if you have not already read the Miss Peregrine’s series do NOT start here because there will be spoilers for the larger series, and you won’t have a connection to the characters and so the fun footnotes from Miss Peregrine will lose much of their charm.

Covering history, practices, memorable characters and much more, this immersive companion to Ransom Riggs' bestselling Miss Peregrine's Peculiar Children series is an absolute must-have for passionate fans. This is a book that really needs to be read in tandem with the 6 books since many references (especially to certain people) do not really achieve their true impact otherwise. It’s a really quick read and just fun all around, even if the original series wasn’t your absolute favorite. This book was hard to rate/review because it is not a story, but more an encyclopedia of the characters and peculiars from Miss Peregrine’s Peculiar Children series. I grew up on a farm on the Eastern shore of Maryland and also in a little house by the beach in Englewood, Florida where I got very tan and swam every day until I became half fish.

There was all of the nitty gritty details I love about world building (and had wanted a bit more about in the actual series) in this book, so if you enjoyed the series at least a little bit and are a fan of world building, I’d encourage checking this out. Normals fear what they do not understand, and fear is a cancer that can quickly metastasize into hatred and violence (page 110).Brought me back into the wonderful and inspiring world of the peculiar through the intellectual and witty writtings of Mrs. Just be careful looking at anything involving Jacob and his grandfather ahead of reading all the books bc you might read a spoiler. Ransom Riggs grew up in Florida but now makes his home in the land of peculiar children -- Los Angeles.

This essential volume is the ideal primer for anyone curious about the world of Miss Peregrine: an overview of its strange history, curious practices, fascinating places, the most famous (and infamous) members of its peculiar families, and much more. I found this little novella quite wonderful and informative if you're a fan of the world that Ransom Riggs has created. It is perfect for people who are very familiar with the series and want to check back in with the world. When I was a little older I got a camera for Christmas and became obsessed with photography, and when I was a little older still my friends and I came into possession of a half-broken video camera and began to make our own movies, starring ourselves, using our bedrooms and backyards for sets. I loved it, especially those old photos that are included in here, as in every other book from this series. The whole chapter on the Loops could have been scratched though (not because it was bad, but because no matter how much explanation there is or what the system being explained is, I will never understand time travel! zapravo su upravo fotografije to što mi je zaokupilo najviše pažnje, poneke sam gledala duže nego što bih čitala stranicu.

od svojeg hobija -skupljanja starih i čudnovatih fotografija po buvljacima- riggs je napravio dobar i, vjerujem, unosan posao. Some of they entertaining others really just fleshing out aspects hinted at in the books (and film) but all if interest and creatively presented. The peculiar world is so vast and complex that I could easily imagine Ransom Riggs writing peculiar short story collections in the future that revolve around characters like Gloria. Written in Miss Peregrine’s inimitable style, it’s also a dramatic expansion of the universe fans have already come to love. I have loved writing stories and taking photographs and making movies ever since, and have endeavored to do all three. Some sections felt like I was forcing myself to read it for school while other sections were so enjoyable that I wish they would’ve been longer. This is a very detailed and fascinating guide into the peculiar world of the “Miss Peregrine” series that I have devoured from page to page. I had a hard time reading about it before but, now that I have finished this book, I seem to fully understand its make-believe science. If you have already read the series and want a fun fast read to just dip a toe back in this world and get some more fun old timey photos in the process, this is FOR YOU. Last but not least, i finished only yesterday but i resume to reading it again to find all points for fanfiction ect because theres so much.
