Miniature frames can be adorned with festive accents like ribbons, bows, or small ornaments, creating a heartwarming addition to your tree. These ornaments serve as a visual scrapbook of precious moments, making them a truly special decoration. Hand-painted Baubles Inside my book, you will find five sections and fifty projects. In the book, I have sections for afternoon crafts, sewing, recycling projects ( small and large), and of course, a garden section to let yourself bloom. You can mould salt dough ornaments into various shapes and sizes, making them a classic and versatile option. To make them, you’ll need flour, salt, and water. Once my primer was dry, I applied two coats of Farrow & Ball estate eggshell in the shade Setting Plaster. This shade is a warm pink. It can look different depending on the changes in the light. Sometimes it can look more peachy than pink. When I applied the 1st coat I was a bit nervous. It didn’t look anything like the tester pot or pictures I had seen online. Which, is a lesson learnt, never go by images online as your screen can show colour differently. Always get a sample! Now, because I have a small car, I rented a van from GoCarfor €11. While shop bought ornaments are beautiful, there’s something incredibly special about covering your tree with handmade Christmas ornaments. When I was writing Dainty Dress Diaries the book, it was during the height of the pandemic, and I didn’t think I would get the opportunity to do signings. Allow enough time between coats for each coat to completely dry. Make sure to let your fireplace fully dry and cure before styling it, as you do not want your perfect paint job to chip or lift on you.

Also, take your time when cutting your fabric as cutting is just as important as your machine work. You can also trim as you go and I always recommend using your iron to get that polished finish. Since painting both of these in Versante Matt, I have had no problems with the paint range, and it has lasted. I have been at it again, I have been busy chopping up an old dress and turning into something new. This week I am sharing how to upcycle a dress into new items. I had this old dress that I adored. I just loved the floral print. I had been hanging onto it but sadly it had become too tight across the waist. I decided to recycle the fabric and make some new items. I made an elastic waist skirt, a matching pouch, and a headband. This project is beginner friendly and I have a Youtube video sharing how I made all three items. You can get really creative with this DIY and use different wools and colours to put your own stamp on it, so have fun with it.

So, when it was pine, it made the room look small and dull. It took me about two days to complete the paint job. It is over six years since I painted it and I can happily report that it is still perfect and I have had no chips or flakes. You can scroll below for how I have done it. Before I Painted My Pine Fire SurroundWhen painting skirting boards, you want durable paint. You can choose a satin, eggshell or gloss finish paint for painting your skirting boards. My best advice is to avoid cheap oil-based paint as from experience, these go yellow over time and smell bad. Also, with a good surface prep, water-based paints shouldn’t chip or discolour over time. As I used the Versante Matt, I didn’t have to apply a primer. How do I prep the plastic before painting? Lightly scuff sand the surface of the playhouse and wipe away any dust before applying the paint. Use a spray gun!
Some second-hand playhouses were still around the €100-€150 price point. I knew if I patiently waited, I would get a bargain. When I saw a cubby house listed for €25, I bid straight away, no bargaining, just a bid!So, gather your crafting supplies, let your imagination run wild, and start creating ornaments to adorn your tree with love and creativity for years. The larger box pouch in the clips measures – 13 inches in width and 18 inches in length. When boxing the corners I measure 2 inches from the point. I used a 14-inch zipper and trimmed to size.
