The GLC-GE-DR-LX SFP can interoperate with other 1G SFPs/interfaces as long as those are based on 1000BASE-LX/LH standard. No attenuator is needed in any fiber strand. The Cisco GLC-BX40-D-I, GLC-BX40-DA-I, and GLC-BX40-U-I SFPs operate on a single strand of standard SMF. The Cisco SFP-10G-LR module is capable of working with a link length of 10 km on any basic single-mode fiber. It is completely in compliance with the 10G Base-LR standard and uses 1310nm lasers. The LR module has no minimum distance, which is why it is ideal for short connections carried over a single mode fiber. Hot-swappable input/output device that plugs into an Ethernet SFP+ port of a Cisco switch (no need to power down if installing or replacing)
